On the DataExpress team, we provide data loading / unloading functionalities for Bytehouse.
• Kickstarted the development of job server microservices in Go to trigger and
monitor data loading and unloading jobs.
Worked on various enhancements on the services to improve on scalability, maintainability, as well as
visibility.
• Development of a general batch data ingestion application in Spark.
• Benchmarking and performance tuning of the Spark batch data ingestion application.
• Took charge of integration with various data sources to load data from.
E.g. S3, Kafka, Local file uploads, Hive, Minio, etc.
• Developed source data schema extraction features from various data formats.
E.g. csv, json, avro, protobuf, parquet, etc.

• Designed and developed an internal front-end tool with React to assist with my team’s duties and
showcase the team’s processes.
• Took on daily operational tasks, including monitoring and troubleshooting of the daily settlement
batch jobs.

campaigns.

A start-up project aiming to offer a platform that brings peer-to-peer pet services to pet owners. Currently still in development stage, we were able to secure a $10,000 start-up grant from the school to carry out the idea.
